The colors are beautifully rich and the glare is at a minimum, which is super important to me... If you’re wanting to try a wooden puzzle, the KAAYEE brand may be a good jumping off point.
The quality of the material is immediately noticeable. The 2.7 mm basswood pieces are very thick and durable. The image is beautifully printed with rich colors and a pleasant textured satin finish that virtually eliminates glare. I especially loved the natural look of the bare wood visible in some areas of the image.
The random-cut style, combined with the inclusion of whimsy pieces (mine had 9!), made the assembly engaging and fun, though faster to complete than expected for this piece count. The pieces are packaged inside the wooden box with a thin, stiff fabric that prevents shedding (unlike some burlap bags) and keeps the pieces from moving around.
The box itself is a feature: it’s made from sturdy basswood. While it lacks a reference poster, the full-color image is on the lid.
